This recall business has “hit the mainstream” with Consumer Reports publishing the definitive article on iPhone 4 antenna issues and backing off their previous recommendation.
I’ve been using this phone since two days before the official launch and it took me maybe a week to see the death grip in action. While I get better reception than I did before, that reception can easily go away with some misplaced fingers.
What’s the deal with big box stores anyway, they’re like huge Faraday cages. If I were in the mob, I’d set up operations in Target.
Anyway, what ALL of this has done is put a splinter of doubt in my mind. If I’m not getting perfect reception, I start moving my fingers around, laying the phone flat on my hand, doing other asinine rituals. The death grip never sleeps.
Most Apple products piss some person or another off and a class-action lawsuit ensues. This time, it may be justified. Or everyone can just STFU about it and I can try to remove that splinter from my brain.
